Peppermint Essential Oil

Mentha Piperita L.

A natural hybrid between water mint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata). It is thought to have originated in Northern Africa or the Mediterranean. Dating back to the Egyptians at least 1,500 B.C., archeologists have found dry peppermint leaves in the inner chambers of Egyptian Pyramids. Considered to be precious oil, rulers wanted to bring as much wealth with them to the afterlife.
